What The Word “JOYFUL” Looks Like To A Rescue
        (or a Cinderella Story)

Splash’s early life was certainly not a good one. Yes, she was the Cinderella of the canine world.  She found herself in a kill shelter with her four puppies. What she did to find herself in that predicament we can only guess. Splash was abandoned along with her puppies. There was no happiness, love or joy in her or her pups lives. But, Sharon from Rebecca’s Paws and Claws took her and her puppies from the shelter and proceeded to get them healthy and ready for their new homes. Splash got her name because she loved jumping in the kiddie pool and just splashing around. That was such a joy in her heart. But, alas, Splash was diagnosed with heart-worms. She would have to undergo treatment before she could be adopted. Meanwhile her 4 babies found homes in New England and they left her one by one.  And "Joy" had dimmed for her.

While looking for a sister to her already fur baby, Jake, Maureen came across a picture of Splash and fell in love. After much soul searching and study on heart-worm diagnosis, treatment and prognosis, she decided that this was the perfect “sister” for her Jake. Splash went home to a town near Boston in October 2017 following her treatment. She learned to swim and loved it- and learned to play in the snow with her squeaky tennis balls - and loved it and finally mastered putting two tennis balls in her mouth at once. And she loved every good thing that life threw at her. And her new family loved her and she loved them and her new brother, Jake. Life was and is terrific. And she learned what the word ‘JOYFUL” meant.

But wait……Her new mom, Maureen, ` had a surprise for her. In April, 2019 new mom thought it would be wonderful for her to see her babies and her Alabama foster mom, Sharon, again. So, mom arranged a reunion for her babies to come see her. They came from Vermont and New Hampshire and New York along with their new human parents, and yes, even foster mom, Sharon, came from Alabama. Everyone met in Burlington, VT at a big beautiful dog park. Everyone was anxious at first, but after a few sniffs and looks……oh what JOY, they were all together again, and played and played for hours until they and their humans were exhausted. And they HAVE learned what the word ‘JOYFUL” means. Everyone is living the good life and will be forever after.
